Good movie. It should’ve been at least 95 minutes shorter. But still. Good movie.

Ruth Dewitt Bukater: Jack Dawson is an insect, a dangerous insect that must be squashed quickly and not allowed near my daughter
The Jack Dawson in question: *a literal golden retriever who has done no wrong ever*

do you think Cal or Ruth ever watched a movie Rose was in and couldn't reconcile Rose Dewitt Bukater with the Rose Dawson on the screen because they never actually bothered to remember Jack's last name and were convinced she died?
or did Cal, married with his millions, realize who she was but move on assuming she lost it? or not wanting to admit he lost so he pretends it never happened, after all no one else is really going to know her? we know the last time she saw him was on the Carpathia but that doesn't mean he didn't see her.
does Ruth recognize her daughter and get closure? did she beg Rose for help/money if she did recognize her? do Ruth's friends recognize her and try to tell her that no, her daughter did survive? did Ruth remain in her social class without the ability to sell off her daughter for her lifestyle?
surely there would've been a slim chance of running into each other at certain events if Rose was successful enough and Cal and Ruth remained in their social circles? is Cal too good for movies to potentially see her in them or end up at events?

my darling. my love wake up. there was a Titanic passenger list on the Carpathia when they pulled into New York, sweetheart. the people taking names from the survivors weren't compiling the list; they were checking it against the passengers from each class. there was no Rose Dawson in third class, and there was a missing Rose Dewitt-Bukater of the same age from first. also there were portraits of Rose; she said so herself. and probably photographs. and her very alive mother and a bunch of first-class passengers who could describe her. why did nobody raise questions about the sudden appearance of an unaccounted-for Rose Dawson, and if that had happened, why wouldn't word have gotten back to Ruth. why is James Cameron so bad at history, my dearest

✌- Who would you most like to go to jail with? Rose Dewitt Bukater, Philomena Cheer, Belle, Stephanie, and Bri
Rose gives off an undignifying laugh. If she was going to spend the night in a prison, she might as well make it exciting and to select her company by who would piss off her mother, RUTH, the most. I'd spend my incarceration time with Jack Dawson or Murphy Michaels @avictimofthejazz
Miss Cheer roars with bemused laughter, though for her incarceration had been quite real. "As long as it isn't that fool Charles Lee or Petty Shippen, I don't suppose I would mind much." Then drawing her shoulders up a little she adds, @vicictimofthejazz/ @anoseforrottenapples would bail me out. Huffing out a breath, she continues. "Perhaps, @honorhearted, if he'd spare me the lecturing. Otherwise, it won't be worth it."
Belle winces. "Imprisonment isn't a preferable pursuit. However, if I must be behind bars it would be with Patrick or Elsa @avictimofthejazz, Adam @brotherhoodwarlord, and Cyneric @swevene.
Stephanie is grumbling already. How does America's golden girl get in SOO much trouble? Of course, her first inclination is to name her childhood best friend Bucky Barnes and then Howard Stark @protectxthem. Immediately following them she adds, @agentnamed, Seg or Thor @menxyouxneed, @bloodyxballet, & Wally and Diana Prince @offwithhishat
Brianna glowers, the glass of champagene in her hand clutched indelicately tighter in her grasp. "Surely you must be jesting. They don't lock-up billion heiresses!! And even if they did, I'd take Alfred with me." @palaceofmuses. Oh, she knows her guardian is likely less than thrilled to hear this quip.

Misery (Titanic fic) - *Coming soon*
Pairing: Cal Hockley x OC / Thomas Andrews x OC
Warnings: angst, disaster, real life events, violence, manipulation, drowning, guns, affair, cheating, mentions of SA and panic attacks, marrying young
Author's note: This is solely based on the film. Anything written for historical characters is for fictional purposes.
Additionally, I saw the movie in theaters for the first time and it kinda inspired me to actually write this. I've thought about it for so long.

Summary:
Ruby DeWitt Bukater was the oldest daughter of the family. When she was 19 years old, she was married to Caledon Hockley, the heir to a Pittsburgh steel fortune. Her mother, Ruth, often said it would "ensure their survival" since he was a billionaire.
Ruby did anything her mother asked. She was fit for royalty, another thing Ruth would say. Ruby took all the responsibilities so her younger sister, Rose, would be spared from her mother's absurd rules and ideas.
The maiden voyage of the Titanic changed her life in more ways than one, especially after she met Thomas Andrews, a man who showed her kindness and the beauty of life.
